R. Wade Brown Studio Fine Art

R. Wade Brown

Combining a life long avocation in 19th century American History and an equally long ambition to pursue art, I left a 20 year career in financial services to devote full time to an art career.

I am self taught, looking for images that "take me somewhere." My self diagnosed style is realistic, with a concentration on detail, composition and color. I work with brush and knife in acrylics on hide, leather and canvas.

My primary inspiration is from Native American, western and southwestern lifestyles. The images support my desire to tell a story and tip my hat to the past. When doing robes, shirts and dresses, I do no replicate, but capture the meaning, style, color and vibrancy of the original.

My work is currently in galleries in Taos, NM, Breckenridge and Frisco, CO, Overland Park, KS, Lawrence, KS, Omaha, NE, Sedona, AZ, and St. Charles, MO. I am featured and demonstrate the creation of my art work periodically at these galleries.

In addition to gallery work, I exhibit at the Denver Indian Market (January), the Kansas City Indian Market (April), the Sante Fe Indian Market at the Eldorado (August), the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta (October) and several other Southwest and Indian art shows.

I work from my home studio in Olathe, KS.
